IES San Vicente

IES San Vicente is in Sant Vicent del Raspeig, 6 km from Alicante and 175 km from Valencia. The University of Alicante is in the municipality. The school offers all the courses of Compulsory Secondary Education with a total of 811 students. In Baccalaureate there are different modalities: Science, Humanities and Social Sciences and General, with a total of 272 students. The school also has a class aimed at students who need to combine participation in ordinary educational contexts with intensive, specialised and generalised support and in specific educational contexts.

In addition, Vocational Education and training courses are offered in the families of Personal Image, Business Administration and Management and Computing (at basic, intermediate and higher grades and specialisation courses) that include modules for training in the workplace and on-the-job training. There are 930 students.

There are 2013 students in the school. From 1st ESO to 2nd Bachillerato, the ages range from 12 to 18 years, approximately. We find students and families of different cultural levels (from families with a basic education to parents with higher education), with different aspirations in life, with different origins, with different customs, with different economic levels and with different family languages/mother tongues. Most students in the ESO stage come from the local schools.

However, in Bachillerato, the students also come from the small town of Agost. It should be noted that a lot of our students have not had the opportunity to travel abroad.
